Seattle Locksmith: Parts & Labor Warranty
When investing in locksmith services and security products, you naturally expect durability and reliability. But do locksmiths provide warranties? The answer varies. While not all locksmiths offer warranties, those who do typically align their guarantees with the manufacturer's terms. In some cases, locksmiths also offer labor warranties.
Types of Warranties Offered by Locksmiths
Manufacturer Warranty
Most security products come with a one-year warranty from the manufacturer. If a product installed by your locksmith encounters issues, you usually need to contact the manufacturer. However, reputable locksmiths often carry high-quality products, reducing the likelihood of needing a warranty. Should you need to use a manufacturer warranty, a trustworthy locksmith can assist with the replacement process.
Work Warranty
Some locksmiths provide a labor warranty, guaranteeing their work for a specific period. This warranty might also cover the installed products or hardware, excluding damage from negligence, misuse, or burglary causes.
Choosing the Right Locksmith
To ensure the longevity and quality of your locksmith’s work and the products they use, it's crucial to select your locksmith with care. Thorough research can save you significant time, money, and frustration in the future.
Seattle Locksmith Warranty Policy
Given the wide range of products we service and install, listing each manufacturer's warranty is impractical. However, each product comes with a specific manufacturer's warranty, which we honor for factory defects. We will replace defective products and issue an invoice at the time. If the manufacturer deems the product out of warranty, the invoice stands, and we will provide their documentation. Conversely, if the product is under warranty, we will credit the parts cost once we receive reimbursement from the manufacturer. Note that manufacturers apply a "normal usage" policy, and improper use may void the warranty.
Seattle Locksmith is not liable for material failures due to external factors, particularly electronic equipment affected by power surges or coordination issues with other parts. This also applies to products altered or repaired by non-Seattle Locksmith personnel.
Installation and Labor Warranty
All our installations are guaranteed, strictly following the manufacturer’s guidelines. We use only OEM keys and keying equipment unless specified otherwise. Our Standard Operating Guideline (SOG) ensures compatibility with existing building hardware. For example, if a building uses Schlage locks, we replace them with Schlage products. Deviations from our SOG, typically for cost savings, are done at the customer's request and after advising them of potential liabilities.
Our standard labor warranty covers 90 days from the completion of work, under normal usage conditions. Service contracts, if in place, will take precedence over this warranty statement.
Choosing Seattle Locksmith ensures you receive reliable, warrantied services and products, providing peace of mind for your security needs.
